Martyna Zych and Martin Kasík brilliantly introduced the works of Antonín Dvořák.

On the 21st of March, Martyna Zych made her debut with Zielona Góra Philharmonic. The full Czech program included world premiere of Dumka and Furiant by Ewa Fabiańska-Jelińska, written especially for this Philharmonic.

Martin Kasík – Czech pianist phenomenally brought Antonín Dvořák’s Piano Concerto in g Minor op. 33, closer to the audience. It was a unique occasion to hear this rarely performed work in Poland. Kasík’s interpretation was both virtuosic and deeply expressive, highlighting the work’s rich textures and dynamic contrasts.

The second half of the concert featured one of Dvořák’s most beloved masterpiece—the Symphony No. 9, “From the New World.” The orchestra delivered a powerful and emotionally charged rendition, bringing out the American folk character in colors and melodies.

Adding a unique and modern touch to the evening, Martyna Zych took on a dual role—both as conductor and as soloist. She performed a new work with solo viola part, seamlessly connecting her conducting with instrumental performance. This innovative approach captivated the audience, showcasing her remarkable versatility and artistic vision.
